Paintings
Tropical Paradise
As I lounged on the beach in sunny Florida, I found the desire to paint what
I saw from my comfy chair.
Majestic Mountains
There is nothing more beautiful in nature than seeing the mountains, and the cascades of water falling into a stream.
Dancing Flames
There is a certain peaceful, warm feeling as I watched these flames dancing
in front of me.
A Gray Dawn
It was a cloudy day as I woke, and saw this gray scene.
The Vase
I found a difficult to put my pencil down when I did this one. It felt like
a vase coming out of a horn.
A Flowered Trilogy
I must’ve been dreaming of flowers and birds, and this is what I came up with.
A Magical Flower
I was just doodling on a piece of paper, and I thought this flower was
magical to me.

Blazing Colors
The weather outside was delightful, and the bright flowers were blooming so I wanted to paint the impression I got from the myriad colors shouting at me.
A Majestic Mountain
A Majestic Mountain By: Dr. Alvin S. Berger After looking at the flat topography in Florida, I was reminded of how beautiful the mountains of the west looked. I conjure up a picture that I remembered from long ago.
Figures from the Ether
Figures from the Ether By: Dr. Alvin S. Berger I wanted to do a "hide the pictures" in a picture. See if you can find a bird, a fish, and a leg. I love to experiment with art. I try to express emotions as I do these fun things. Size: 16x20Original available
Autumn Feelings
Even though I am in Florida I always remember the beauty of the crisp autumn colors in Connecticut. The colors are bright and it brings such delightful emotions inside me.
The Hummingbird
Last summer I was sitting outside in Kirkland, Washington watching the hummingbirds eat their daily fill from a beautiful flowering tree. It was actually emotional to watch how wonderful nature works, and it gave me inspiration for this delightful picture.
A Message from the Soul
It was cold, cloudy, and damp when I went into the garage to do this painting. It’s very unusual for this weather in Florida, but it’s January, I guess. The background in dark colors reflects the mood of the day
Something From Nothing
I had planned to do a very bright painting with a new technique but it came out really dark. I brightened it up with lots of yellow and then made a smiling face out of it.
Primeval Forest
I was contemplating climate change and wondered what it was like billions of years ago when our planet was evolving with life. This wild bird flew among the surging forests of that time, so I called this wild one: “Primeval Forest”
Alchemy
I think that mixed media has a real place in my art. I used an empty soda bottle and a sawed in half spoon to show how an alchemist might turn soda into gold. My first attempt at this new piece.
Colors Aloud
Here is a perfect example of how our brain can produce a thing of”beauty” from nothingness. I just wanted to express colors that fit my mood
Light Beyond Black
I was still happy when I did this one even though there are lots of black in it. That color was used to show the brightness of life and that there is beauty beyond the darkness of sadness.
Fireworks From Inside
Some paintings bring out more emotions for me than others. This one felt like bright lights and fireworks. I changed it from the original which was too dark for me.
The Roaring Red
Every time I look at a blank canvas I wonder what will emerge from my brain through my hands. I had just finished a golf game and was psyched to paint.
Cherry Blossom Time
As I had my morning pills with fresh cherries to ease them down, I quickly went to the garage and did this one. Different from my other works because I don’t want to be compartmentalized
From the Heart
I have always wondered how artists think of what to compose. I finally figured out that it just come naturally. Touch the canvas in a spot with paint and it just flows.
Starburst
I set up my covered bridge table in the garage as soon as Vera left to get her nails done. It is the only time I have to do these paintings. We have no room in the house so I’m relegated to the garage. I so enjoy doing them. This one is called, “Starburst”.
Light of a Storm
It’s very hard to express how much I love doing these flowable paintings. I saw a demonstration on YouTube and wanted to try it. Each one is a mirror of what I am thinking at that moment in time.
A Color Extravaganza
It’s pretty obvious that I love bright, vibrant colors. I had ordered new paints and wanted to try some of them.
Stars Among Us
WHAT BEAUTY WE SEE IN COLORS!! I love to mix them in uncertain ways and let the viewer see what they think I am saying .
Painting at 89
The most wonderful part of aging gracefully is that no matter what the age we can do almost anything. I love working with my hands.
Sunshine on the Dolphins
Art class kept calling me. I felt at home under the water, and do enjoyed playing with the dolphins.
Colors From Above
Some colors make me smile, and there are no colors that are sad. Even black has a rather sordid character .
Mountain Pass
The thought of my being a real painter never entered my mind. I am still enthralled by sitting in front of a blank piece of canvas and doing a thoughtful work.
Blue is Happiness
As a new artist I had to look at what I wanted to “say” in a painting . I like to think that emotions enter into all that we do or act.
Starry Nights in Color
This is my first commissioned piece from Shelly and Gary Berger. They wanted “Starry Starry night” and a blend of reds ,yellows and blues.
